Good morning Scribblers,
A very exciting pre-order to begin - if you read just one book this year, you should be reading novella ‘Lying Perfectly Still’ by Laura Fish, Winner of the SI Leeds Reader's Choice Award 2022.
UNCOVERING THE TRUTH WON’T BE EASY.
When Koliwe leaves England for a new job in overseas aid in Eswatini, formerly the Kingdom of Swaziland, she encounters a world of clashing beliefs, wealthy ex-pats and sexual predators. As she uncovers the corruption at the heart of the aid community, she is forced to reassess her own identity and confront those who seek to undermine her.
Laura Fish’s second novel, Strange Music was Orange Prize listed 2009; International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award nominated 2009 and is taught on university courses internationally. So you’re in for a real quality treat here! Pre-orders open now ahead of the November release.

I want to talk about writing outside of personal experience today – the unease it creates within the publishing industry today and how writers can get ‘cancelled’ for doing so.
